Why Yoga in the shadows
Yoga in the Shadows is inspired by Carl Jung's concept of the shadow - the unconscious part of ourselves where we bury the traits, emotions, fears, and desires we'd rather not face.
Rather than turning away from those hidden parts, this practice invites you to meet them with awareness through breath, movement, and stillness.
in 2023, I became a yoga teacher (RYT200)
at a time when I needed change. What began as a personal practice became the foundation for a healthier life and a different relationship with myself. one that eventually led to losing more than 80 pounds.
Today, I share that practice with artists, gamers, and creators who want to move well, recover well, and discover that some of the most meaningful transformations begin when we're willing to step into the shadows.

Do I need yoga experience?
Not at all. Most classes are designed to be approachable for a wide range of experience levels, and modifications are offered throughout class. Come as you are.
What should I bring?
Bring a yoga mat, a bottle of water, and comfortable clothing you can move in. If you have yoga blocks or a strap, feel free to bring them, but they aren't required.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable athletic clothing that allows you to move freely. Bare feet are recommended during practice.
What kind of yoga do you teach?
Yoga in the shadows focuses on breath-led movement, mobility, balance, strength, and recovery. Classes are inspired by vinyasa yoga and are designed for artists, gamers, creators, and anyone who spends long hours sitting or working with their hands.
What is Infernus: Yoga in the Shadows?
Infernus is a light vinyasa flow that uses continuous movement to build warmth, focus, and endurance. Expect a steady pace, accessible postures, and a satisfying sweat.
What is Nocturnus: Starlight Flow?
Nocturnus is a slower, restorative practice designed to help you unwind, improve mobility, and leave feeling refreshed.
Do I need to be flexible?
No. Flexibility isn't a requirement for Yoga in the Shadows. The practice is about cultivating awareness through breath and movement, meeting yourself where you are each time you step onto the mat.
Are your classes beginner friendly?
Yes. Modifications are offered throughout class so you can practice at a pace that works for your body.
What are Obols?
Obols are Nü Plague's credits system. Every paid class earns one Obol, which can be collected and redeemed toward tattoo credit at Nü Plague. Visit the Earn Obols page to learn more.
Where are classes held?
Yoga in the shadows is currently offered as pop-up classes at community spaces and special events. Class locations are listed on the registry.
How do I register?
Simply select a class from the schedule and reserve your spot online. Registration is recommended, as class sizes may be limited.
